The first and most important part of being motivated is recognizing why that particular task is meaningful to you. The second factor is comparing your motivation to your physical state. As much as possible, try to align your biology with your work. When do you work most efficiently?
Third, create a deadline for every task. If that doesn’t work for you, look for external accountability; a friend, or anyone else who will make sure you stick to your deadline.
Finally, don’t let your feelings rule your life. Even when you don’t feel motivated, use your willpower, and push through it. It gets easier each time you do that.
