Negative self-talk is extremely common in those that suffer from self-loathing. Writing out our negative thoughts and reading them out can help us recognize how harsh our words are. This is a great first step to practicing positive self-talk; it’s easier to change the way we speak to ourselves when we can hear what we’re saying.
