The idea of habit cycling is to intentionally introduce small interruptions into our daily routines.
Because most of us don’t revisit our habits unless they are causing a significant reduction in our happiness, we don’t truly know how they impact us. By even slightly altering a habit, you’d be surprised at how different it could make you feel.
Habit cycling doesn’t just apply to ‘bad’ habits; experimenting with good habits can also be beneficial. You can move them to other times of the day or even eliminate them for a few days. Anything to figure out what impact they have on your life. Only then can you make an informed decision about whether or not they should stay.
